Academia Rossica at the London Bookfair

Hoorah for Academia Rossica. They are creating a website (www.booksfromrussia.ru - live from May) linking Russian authors and publishers with UK translators (and readers).

This link-up is much needed. Seamus Murphy from HarperCollins reported receiving many submissions of proposals/chapters translated into English from the Russian by non-native English speakers! I hope this site will circumvent this by enabling publishers and appropriate translators to get hold of each other.

Sadly many Russian writers and publishers were absent from the bookfair, including Booker prize winner Olga Slavnikova and the young winners of the Debut prize.
